MASGA RESULTS - CECIL COUNTY Maryland’s Cecil County Dragway hosted the Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association for the Annual Uncle Buck Pig Roast
In the first event, 25 cars competed for the R&J Control #1 Qualifying award. In the end it was Englishtown national event winner Matt Schurman claiming the award. As eliminations got underway it would be a first time winner in victory lane by the end of the day. Pete “Lucky” Luciano would wheel his '68 Camaro to his first ever MASGA victory over John Martin in the finals.
In that final Martin took a .010 to .017 reaction time advantage over Luciano but, as they traveled down the track Lucky found himself back in control and forced Martin to break out, 9.893 to Lucky's winning 9.910. Don Knoblick won the "Rockaway Racing" best package award with his first round victory.
On Sunday the race was canceled due to rain and will be made up at a later date. The final race on the schedule is at Royce Miller’s Maryland International Raceway for the 1st annual “IHRA vs NHRA 9.90 Shootout” on September 25th & 26th.
